Romantic Paper lanterns for Your Wedding at Dusk
The soft light of paper lanterns sets a romantic mood for any special dusk occasion. I just love sharing this one straight from my Mother's archives, just in time for your wedding day.

The lanterns strung on novelty lights and hung along branches, around decks, pools, and everywhere are beautiful.
Things You will Need 2 Create Your Lanterns
Strings of Novelty lights (Click the lights for Amazon pricing)
Light-colored paper bags about 7 inches wide
Remember ladies for each lantern, you'll need two of the same size.
A utility knife
Labels to strengthen your X cut out
A ruler
2-inch wide ribbon (one 50-inch length for each lantern)

1. You can reach inside the bag with a utility knife, cut two 1 1/2-inch slits, making an X on the label.
For the top of each lantern, stick a label on the inside bottom center of one bag to reinforce your cuttings. 
2. To attach bags to lights, first remove a bulb, and slide the socket through the X, and then screw the bulb back in.
3. For the lantern bottom, slide a second bag up over the first one. 
The 2 bags, 1 fitted over the other, form a box.
4. Lay the center of the ribbon on top of the wire at the socket; wrap ribbon snugly down sides of bags. Knot at bottom and let ends hang and sway in the wind. The ribbon will add the dramatic effect you are looking for.
I just love the simple ideals that add so much to a space and have a way of changing the entire surroundings.
