Little Glittery Paper
Mache Star
Using a little cardboard, paper mache, and glitter you can
make a little twinkle star.
Your stars can be hug on a Christmas tree or make several
for a unique baby mobile.
Stuff You Need
Paper
Mache Paste
Recycled
Newspaper
Hot Glue
Gun (optional)
Paint
and Paint Brushes
Glitter
and Elmer's Glue

1 Creating
Your Armature (star form)
Start by cutting two star
designs from recyclable cardboard you can pick up outside of whatever stores
are close to you.
To create a 3D design you will
cut one star in half and hot glue to each side of the whole star.
Make your Star as large or
small as you like.
2 Paper Mache the Star Armature
Now you are ready to cover your
star with paper and paper mache paste. You will need to apply three to four
layers of newspaper over the armature depending how thick your cardboard is.
After applying the paper mache you will set your star armature aside to dry
over night.
3. Paint Your Star White
We recommend that you paint a primer
coat of white flat house paint onto your paper mache sculptures in this case
your paper mache twinkle star. It usually takes 3 to 4 coats of primer which
will also give you a smoother surface for painting but I only used one coat for
the star.
Now paint your star anyway you
like using acrylic paints and let your paint dry.
I almost forget to remind you to poke a hole in the top to add ribbon for hanging.

Twinkle Little Star
To create a twinkle star there
must be lots of glitter.
Cover your star one side at a
time with Elmer's glue and apply awesome glitter. Let each side dry and then do
the others.
5.
Sealing for Protection
Applying a good coat of Elmer's
glue will act as a sealant for your paper mache star.
